Roles and responsibilities

BASIC FUNCTION:

As an IT Manager you are responsible for monitoring the operation of all computer hardware installations and the maintenance of such systems.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervision of all daily and weekly IT procedures in the hotel.
  2. Serving as the primary contact for all servicing of computer PC hardware.
  3. Designing and implementing preventive maintenance for all IT hardware & software.
  4. Responsibility for all aspects of the day to day working of the IT Dept and all of its related issues.
  5. Checking daily backups, all system interfaces, server hardware and logs.
  6. Managing IT supervisors and officers, assigning their daily jobs, and training them on all necessary theoretical and practical procedures, troubleshooting and support in compliance with corporate standards.
  7. Work with and manage suppliers in any software/ hardware conflicts.
  8. Follow up all claims that are forwarded to the IT Dept.
  9. Document and archive all correspondence and troubleshooting and follow up suppliers’ visits and maintenance.
  10. Develop and adapt any ideas that raise IT services to higher standard.
  11. Identify any gaps in operational effectiveness that might create risk to the IT Dept and devise plans to mitigate risk and improve operations.
  12. Investigate and report software problems to the vendor, or MIS regional, area or corporate office.
  13. Train selected hotel employees to take on major responsibilities of system management in his/her absence.
  14. Maintain technical and user documentation, system reports and newsletters.
  15. Complete and distribute a monthly activity report to Corporate Information Technology.
  16. Assist existing/new properties when it is required.
